41. 13. THE NEW WAVE OF SPANISH WHITE WINES (Thursday, June 4) Of all types of Spanish wines, the whites are undergoing the most dramatic improvements since the last decade. Grapes like Albariño from Rías Baixas, Godello from Bierzo and Valdeorras, and Verdejo from Rueda are leading the way. But there are also new white riojas, ambitious xarelos in Catalonia, as well as outstanding wines made with other recovered or foreign varieties. In this seminar we will blind taste some of the best white wines of Spain against a selection of great ones from some of the top wine regions in the world.
