Description

01. RIOJA: TRADITIONAL VS. MODERN STYLES (Thursday, January 29)

Rioja is a centuries-old wine region and the most important one in Spain. In addition, 2025 marked the 100th anniversary of the official recognition of Rioja as a Denominación de Origen (D.O.), Spain’s term for wine appellation. Rioja was the first wine region in Spain, and one of the first in the world, to be granted that status. At the same time, the last few decades have seen many dramatic changes in this region, including the appearance of new influential styles. After the in-depth exploration of Rioja that we did last year, this year’s first wine seminar will be devoted to compare Rioja’s unique old traditional wines with distinctive modern styles.
