This course introduces students to the fundamentals of fashion figure drawing and the art of illustrating style. Students will begin with standing poses, practicing proportion, balance, and light and shadow. As the course progresses, they’ll expand into dynamic poses, exploring how fabric drapes on the human form and how to render different fabric types and textures. Using tools such as markers, gel pens, and colored pencils, students will complete a series of fashion sketches that capture movement, fabric, and silhouette. They’ll also look to professional fashion illustrators for inspiration, experimenting with techniques as they begin to develop their own personal style. The course culminates in a final project—a polished fashion illustration in the medium of their choice, reflecting both their technical growth and creative voice.
