About this event
Foundational thinking is essential for nurse leaders navigating complex and rapidly evolving healthcare environments. This e-learning module, Thinking Like a Nurse Leader: Foundational Thinking for Complex Healthcare Environments, introduces the core cognitive skills needed to analyze, synthesize, and apply knowledge effectively in leadership practice. Learners will explore how foundational thinking applies across different leadership levels and develop strategies to strengthen critical thinking and reflection in decision-making. The course includes practical, scenario-based applications to support translation of theory into real-world leadership practice. Designed for nurse leaders at all stages, this module enhances the ability to think systematically, solve problems effectively, and lead with clarity in complex clinical settings. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete both the Nurse Leader pre-assessment and post-assessment. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.75 ANCC contact hours.
