About this event
Influence is one of the most powerful tools in nursing leadership, shaping culture, strengthening teams, and driving meaningful improvements in patient care. This e-learning module, Influence Over Authority: Leadership That Moves People, explores how nurse leaders can lead effectively without relying solely on positional authority. Learners will develop skills in adaptive communication, trust-building, and motivational strategies to engage teams and foster collaboration. The course also examines behavior change models and ethical approaches to navigating power dynamics and feedback within healthcare settings. Designed for nurse leaders at all levels, this module strengthens the ability to inspire action, build credibility, and lead with lasting impact across diverse clinical environments. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete both the Nurse Leader pre-assessment and post-assessment. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 1.25 ANCC contact hours.
