About this event
Contact dermatitis is a common inflammatory skin condition encountered across all clinical settings and a frequent cause of patient discomfort and healthcare visits. This self-paced e-learning module provides healthcare professionals with a practical introduction to the recognition, diagnosis, and management of irritant and allergic contact dermatitis. Learners will explore common triggers, clinical presentations, and key differences between the two forms, while developing skills to support accurate diagnosis using appropriate strategies, including patch testing. The course also reviews evidence-based treatment approaches for both acute and chronic cases, with an emphasis on patient education and prevention. Designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals, this module builds confidence in delivering effective, evidence-based dermatologic care. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete the entire module and achieve a score of 80% or higher on the post-quiz. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.5 ANCC contact hours.
