Description
Emergencies are unpredictable, but preparation doesn't have to be. This interactive course, taught by an experienced first responder, introduces families to the principles of emergency preparedness by focusing on hazard recognition, prevention, emergency planning, and confident decision-making. Participants will learn how to identify common household hazards, develop family communication and evacuation plans, understand local risks, and prepare for emergencies before they happen. Through practical discussions and planning activities, families will begin building a personalized emergency action plan designed to reduce response delays and increase confidence during unexpected events. This awareness-level course is ideal for individuals and families looking to build a strong foundation in emergency preparedness and serves as the first course in the Catalyst Family Emergency Preparedness series.
