California a-g + NCAA approved. Open to rising 10th-12th graders. Each term represents a single semester of 5 credits. Both terms must be taken for a full year of 10 credits. This course is available for students to remediate for semester 1 or semester 2 material. Conceptual Physics is a laboratory-based introduction to the main principles of physics as seen in our daily lives. The content emphasizes the conceptual exploration of the topics of motion, forces, energy, properties of matter, thermodynamics, waves, electricity and magnetism. Students will utilize first-year algebra skills to problem solve and analyze data. Classroom learning will include hands-on laboratory work incorporating direct data collection and analysis, demonstrations, whole class discussion, and small-group projects. *This summer course is designed for students who need to remediate for Conceptual Physics/Physics in the Universe from during the school year. Textbook: Instructor will provide details for accessing reference materials on the first day of school. Prepares students for: Environmental Science, Anatomy, Exercise Science
