About this event
Instructor Suzette East Capture the serene beauty of nature in this focused acrylic painting masterclass. Under the instruction of acclaimed artist Suzette East, students will learn to paint a stunning vignette of a vibrant wood duck perched on a weathered log. Throughout these sessions, you will explore professional acrylic techniques to bring your wildlife scene to life. Suzette will demonstrate precise color mixing with a core palette, the use of retarding mediums for seamless blending, and how to leverage unique tools like sea sponges and scruffy brushes to create realistic wood grain, soft feathers, and natural textures. Perfect for painters looking to expand their technical skills and create a striking, gallery-ready nature piece. Supplies Needed: 16x20 stretched canvas, flat shader brush (1–1½”), ½ flat #10 brush, #2 round brush, #1 script liner, ¾ mop or soft scruffy old brushes, sea sponge, Q-tips, divided water bin, paint trays, paper towel or cloth, light brown watercolor pencil, acrylic retarding medium, and a set of basic artist acrylic colors: Mars black, Titanium white, Burnt umber, Ultramarine blue, Thalo blue, Yellow light, Thio/Acra Magenta (or quinacridone), and Cadmium red. At the end of the registration, a pop up will appear for something called Active Advantage. This is not part of our program. It does not provide benefits for our students and it does not affect your enrollment in any way. Please click no and complete your registration. If you click yes by mistake, please contact PVAEC as soon as possible so we can help you cancel it.
