Thanksgiving Turkey Oven Mitt, Trivet, & Bowl Cozy Sewing Workshop Get ready for Thanksgiving with a fun, festive sewing project! In this beginner-friendly workshop, students will create a turkey-themed oven mitt and coordinating trivet or bowl cozy, perfect for adding a handmade touch to the Thanksgiving season. Students will build their sewing skills while learning sewing machine basics, sewing curved seams, matching pattern pieces to create a larger design, decorative hand stitching techniques, working with batting, sewing darts, and applying binding. Along the way, we'll practice techniques that can be used in many future sewing projects. No prior sewing experience is required.Sewing machines, patterns, and all necessary sewing tools are provided. Participants are responsible for bringing their own fabric (fabric requirements and recommended yardage will be provided after registration).
Please pay a supply & equipment fee of $30 to the instructor on the first day of the session.
These hands-on, beginner-friendly sewing classes are perfect for those with little or no sewing experience. You'll learn sewing machine operation, pattern basics, fabric cutting, and construction as you create a project from start to finish. Leave with a custom project, practical sewing skills, and the confidence to continue your sewing journey!
