In conjunction with Food Rescue US-South Florida, our Mitzvah Day group will learn about the value of reducing food waste, rescuing food from local supermarkets, and the impact of food waste on the environment. Food insecurity causes poor health, emotional distress, and is a mental burden. As a group, we will “rescue” food from Whole Foods and other stores, and deliver it to Green Haven. We look forward to spending Mitzvah Day impacting the environment and helping people! Up to 15 volunteers. Food insecurity project.
