Does your child have a passion for writing and drawing? Does he or she dream of becoming a professional author someday? Our "Become a Published Author" enrichment class offers the perfect opportunity to turn that dream into reality. In this hands-on program, your child will craft his or her own original story and create colorful illustrations for a published book. Students will learn the complete publishing process, from developing their ideas to seeing their work bound in a beautiful hardcover edition. This unique experience creates lasting memories for both you and your child while teaching valuable skills in storytelling, illustration, and book production. Each student will have their very own published book to treasure and share with family and friends. These books are produced by a student publishing company as keepsakes for your child and family, not through a major commercial publisher. Books will be available mid-December. This class is taught by Sophia Ruvalcaba. Sophia is an 11th grader at Harding Academy, and AP Language student. She successfully taught this class in a summer LEAP camp and helped three students publish their first book! She also published her own book in 2024 called Brad.
