About this event
56. Exploring the Tyler Forks Community Forest (FT-3) 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm Adjacent to Copper Falls State Park near Mellen, the 590-acre Tyler Forks Community Forest features forested wetlands, ridges, and ravines that provide critical habitat for migratory birds, brook trout, and countless other species. Beyond wildlife protection, the forest safeguards water quality for the Bad River watershed and Lake Superior and has become a hub for outdoor recreation, conservation, and education. Hike on trail with ecologist and birding expert Joan Elias in search of spring wildflowers, riverside views, and a variety of songbirds, hopefully to include plenty of warblers! *Note: 3-mile roundtrip hike on hilly terrain Optional: Meet at Tyler Forks Community Forest trailhead parking lot at 1:15pm.
