Love nature? Do you want to actually see the Milky Way? Curious about how to cook homemade pizza over a campfire? Then this is the trip for you! After a day of preparation here at BASIS, we will go on a three-day, two-night hike in the nearby Appalachian Mountains. Students will learn a lot of useful skills: the leave-no-trace philosophy; packing efficiently; setting up tents; starting a fire; and camp cooking. We will also have fun! Our hike will take us from the top of the Blue Ridge mountains down to secluded rivers where students can swim, and back up to the top of the Blue Ridge, where we will be picked up.
