Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common gastrointestinal disorder that affects the 10-15% of Americans. IBS can significantly impact a person’s quality of life, but it is manageable through dietary adjustments, stress management, and sometimes medication. Raising awareness about IBS can help those affected seek appropriate care and support. The intention of this to presentation is to provide a brief overview of the symptoms of IBS, how it is diagnosed, and what you can do to manage it.
