Session 3: Nutrition for Perimenopause & Menopause with Registered Dietitians Melissa Phillips & Annie Haas, & Chef Taylor Johnson
Protein intake and nutrient balance are important considerations for women in perimenopause and menopause. Learn how to support symptom management and long-term health by adding protein, calcium, and other nutrients to your diet. We'll focus on simple customizable recipes that incorporate important nutrients, as well as discuss common nutrition myths.
This cooking demo class pairs well with the Well Wisconsin Podcast on perimenopause and menopause nutrition!
Demonstrated recipes for tasting include:
- Frozen Mango Mock Daiquiri: Reducing alcohol intake can help improve sleep and manage hot flash symptoms. This cool, tropical nonalcoholic twist on a frozen daiquiri will make a great addition to your recipe box.
- Creamy Edamame Hummus: Enjoy a delicious snack full of plant protein with this decadent soy-based dip.
- Protein-Rich Lentil Salad: Packed with nutrients, plant protein, and creamy Greek yogurt, this satisfying salad is perfect for fast and tasty meal prep.
