About this event
Description
This workshop is designed for participants in the range of relief printmaking experiences from beginner to intermediate. We will focus on how to design and carve woodcuts for hand printing textiles. Instruction will touch on woodcutting tools, carving techniques, designing blocks to create bigger patterns, and two different ways to hand print woodcut blocks using different inks and inking methods.
Participants are welcome to bring an item of clothing or fabric to print on. Each person will receive a flour sack towel to print a final design on.
A list of tips, tools and materials will be provided to those interested in repeating this process.
