About this event
Description
Discover the beauty of sgraffito, a classic pottery decorating technique that combines layered underglaze with hand-carved detail. In this class, participants will begin with a premade leather hard clay bowl, apply underglaze, and then carefully incise designs to reveal the clay body underneath. The result is a striking, high-contrast pattern that transforms a simple vessel into a one-of-a-kind functional artwork. Participants should plan to return to the Studios three weeks after class to pick up their creations after kiln firing.
UW Students and Union Members pay $10 less than listed fee. Check box and use ID/Member Number for discount on fees page.
