Mission Statement The Liberty Lacrosse Men’s Retreat is a gathering of Liberty University Men’s Lacrosse alumni and players dedicated to strengthening our brotherhood, deepening our faith, and equipping one another to live boldly as men of God. Through shared experiences, honest conversations, and Christ-centered fellowship, we will challenge ourselves to rise above comfort, embrace servant leadership, and pursue the high calling of being Kingdom-minded men in our homes, communities, and beyond. Theme “Hill City Boys to Mountain Men” - As Liberty University Men’s Lacrosse players, we once called ourselves the Hill City Boys. However, Liberty University calls us to something greater, preparing us for higher purposes and greater challenges. During our time at LU, the lessons learned on the field, in the classroom, and in our faith journey shape us into Mountain Men, men equipped to lead, to serve, and to rise to the heights of our calling. Men’s Retreat, Why? The view of our lives is limited and flat compared to God’s plan for us. God calls us to the mountain to shape us, challenge us, and deliver his word to our lives directly. It is not a coincidence that LU stands atop a mountain and is a beacon of life to not only Lynchburg but to the world. LU students' reach is immeasurable as we are trained to be champions for Christ. The thought process for this Men’s Retreat was sparked after the tragic passing of former Men’s LU Lacrosse Alum Tom Girani. Tom loved LU Men’s Lacrosse and gave his all when playing for the university. Tom passed far too young, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His life touched so many, and the love and laughter he shared will never be forgotten. Tom loved his teammates and his passing reminded us of the special bond you form as a LU Men’s Lacrosse player. We are called to be different and not just while we’re at LU. This Men’s retreat is meant to begin a tradition of fellowship and to connect.
