JR., the Broadway Junior version of Lionel Bart's classic musical based on Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver Twist. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning show is one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture and is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audience members alike. In Victorian England, Oliver, an underfed orphan living in a workhouse, is apprenticed to an undertaker and badly mistreated. He runs away to London, where he is taken in by a band of young thieves led by Fagin. After Oliver is wrongly accused of theft, the kindhearted Mr. Brownlow offers him shelter. But fearing exposure, Fagin sends the dangerous Bill Sikes and the compassionate Nancy to bring Oliver back, putting his hope of finding a loving family at risk. Oliver! JR. is full of classic songs like "Consider Yourself", "Food Glorious Food", and "Oom-Pah-Pah", and perfectly showcases the talents of a large ensemble cast.
