Description

As part of our Francophonie Celebration, join us for a special screening of the award-winning short film:
The Boy with White Skin (L’enfant à la peau blanche)
Thursday, March 5
Set deep inside a gold mine in Senegal, The Boy with White Skin is an award-winning short film by French director Simon Panay.
The film follows Issa, a young boy brought by his father to a group of miners who believe he possesses special powers that can lead them to gold. As Issa is lowered into the mine, fear, tradition, and exploitation collide, revealing the heavy cost placed on a child in the name of belief and survival.
Shot in near-total darkness and praised for its immersive atmosphere, the film offers a powerful reflection on labor, myth, and the loss of innocence.
