Create a card that sparkles when it opens? In The Spark Lab, students combine art, science, and imagination to bring their creations to life with electricity! Using colorful paper, LEDs, copper tape, batteries, switches, and other fun materials, young inventors craft glowing artwork, light-up creations, interactive cards, and playful paper inventions. Every project is a new chance to design, decorate, experiment, and make something uniquely their own, and every week students take their bright, imaginative creations home to share with family and friends. What We Will Explore: • ✨ Weeks 1-2, First Sparks & Holiday Cards: Discover how batteries, flat LEDs, and conductive tape form a complete circuit. Create glowing artwork and a festive card with a paper switch to control its lights. • ❄️ Weeks 3-4, Glowing Winter Scenes & New Year Creations: Build an illuminated winter scene while exploring circuits with multiple LEDs. Celebrate the New Year with light-up paper fireworks and a handmade press switch. • 🦋 Weeks 5-6, Glowing 3D Creations & Motors in Motion: Design three-dimensional paper creations with illuminated details and hidden circuits. Explore how micro motors turn electrical energy into movement to bring these inventions to life. • 🎧 Weeks 7-8, Wearable Sparks: Design light-up wristbands, badges, or other wearable creations. Experiment with switches and flexible circuit pathways to make art you can wear. • 💐 Week 9, Glowing Valentine Bouquets: Create a three-dimensional bouquet of paper flowers with glowing LED centers. Design a decorative vase and add a handmade switch to light up this special gift. • 🚀 Week 10, Young Inventors’ Challenge: Design, build, test, and personalize an original invention featuring light and movement.
