Travel through art history and beyond in this inspiring class that blends classic masterpieces with exciting contemporary art. Young artists will explore how artists from different times and cultures express ideas, stories, and styles—then try those approaches themselves. We’ll “paint with scissors” in the spirit of Matisse, scratch and layer colorful sgraffito landscapes inspired by folk artist Karla Gerard, and experiment with many more techniques along the way.
