This 4-hour, hands-on Stop the Bleed Boot Camp at the American Legion gives you the real-world skills and confidence to act fast and save lives, whether at a motor vehicle crash, a hunting or hiking accident, or as a witness to a violent incident. What this course is A fast-paced, practical workshop where you’ll train like the responder you hope to find. This isn’t a lecture, you’ll get your hands on real gear, practice techniques, and run through realistic scenarios so the techniques become muscle memory. What you’ll learn & practice • Proper tourniquet application (commercial and improvised), fast and effective. • Direct pressure and pressure-dressing techniques for junctional and limb wounds. • Wound packing for deep penetrating injuries. • Field-expedient solutions when equipment is limited. • Prioritizing care and communicating with EMS, how to hand off a patient. • Scenario training: vehicle crashes, remote outdoor injuries, and active-threat aftermath.
