About this event
Description
Join Kevin Leonard of The Laurel History Boys for a fascinating look at one of Maryland’s crown jewels of horse racing. Opened in 1911, the Laurel Racecourse hosted legendary horses including Sir Barton, War Admiral, Whirlaway, Secretariat, and Affirmed. Seabiscuit trained here for his famed match race with War Admiral and competed twice at Laurel. Once home to the Laurel International and other special events, the racecourse is set for demolition and redevelopment after hosting the 2026 Preakness. If program is showing as full online, please contact the 50+ Center front desk at 410-313-0380 for availability.
