TEAM REGISTRATION ONLY. Howard County Recreation & Parks is accepting team applications for the Alliance Division of the Youth Basketball League (YBL). The YBL brings boys & girls teams from the greater Howard County area for league play. Teams play eight regular season games, starting December 11, followed by a single-elimination tournament for teams that qualify. The early bird registration discount will end on 10/16. Howard County’s premier facilities are conveniently located off either Rt. 29, I-95, or I-70. The YBL provides certified officials, facility staff, league administration and website updates. Registration Deadline Friday, November 20th. YBL Coaches badges requirements and team rosters deadline Friday, December 4th. Spots are limited so please register today! League Refund Policy: a 20% administrative fee is deducted for all refund requests more than four (4) weeks prior to league starting; a 50% refund if withdrawal requested more than two (2) weeks prior to league starting; no refunds are given less than two (2) weeks prior to the start of the league. There will be a virtual coaches meeting held on December 1st, time is TBD. A member from your coaching staff must be present during this meeting. Important details will be shared and discussed at this time.
All coaches and players must have rostered via the link below no later than Friday, December 4th. Coaches who have not completed the online roster process by 12/5 will not receive a YBL Alliance League ID badge for week 1 and therefore will not be permitted on the sideline to coach until that process is complete and they are on the certified roster. Any reports of coaches on the sideline who are not officially badged will result in disciplinary actions which may include forfeit(s) and potential loss of playoff participation privileges.
As part of the online rostering process, all coaches will be required to submit the following:
• Select Role ( Head Coach, Asst. Coach)• Select Program• Select Age Group(s) coaching• Provide all basic info (first name, last name, Phone #, D.O.B, etc.)• Provide a “headshot” photo for YBL Alliance League ID (NO HATS AND NO SUNGLASSES)• Electronically sign for the HCRP Coaches Code of Conduct
