Prerequisites: Bronze Cross, 15 years old, Adapted Swim Instructor Course- Online Session: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Swimmers. The Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor course trains candidates to the Competency Level 1 knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to teach the Society’s Swim for Life® and Canadian Swim Patrol programs. The first week covers theory and peer teaches, the second week candidates complete swim lesson teaching experience by teaching their own lesson set. Please bring prerequisites on the first day of class. The Online Session must be completed prior to the first day of class and is available for free online here. The Swim Instructor Kit is required for this course and is available to purchase for an additional fee.
