Ever wondered how a machine can load, aim, and launch all on its own? Week by week, your young innovator will engineer their very own motorized launcher — discovering the science that makes it move along the way. Gears, motors, stored energy, gravity — the same ideas that inspire builders and inventors like Mark Rober. By the end of the course, they won’t just understand how the machine works. They’ll have built one that actually fires.Throughout the course, participants will:
  • Build their launcher piece by piece — a swiveling base, a motorized trigger, and a self-loading system that feeds each disc into place
  • Discover how motors, gears, and stored energy work together to create real, repeating motion
  • Power their creation with a motor and battery and watch it launch discs at the flip of a switch
  • Take on fun engineering challenges — can they hit the target on Demo Day and out-aim the class?
  • Think like real engineers: experiment, problem-solve, and improve their build week after week

Take-Home STEM Kit: This program comes with a curated kit that gives your young engineer everything they need — motor, gears, battery, and discs — and to take the Motorized Disk Launcher home. The perfect way to keep the curiosity going.
