Description

Discover how creative expression can strengthen memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. Drawing from Dr. Peggy Swarbrick's Intellectual Dimension of Wellness and compelling research from Your Brain on Art, this interactive workshop explores the science behind creativity and brain health. Through discussion, guided observation exercises, and hands-on mixed-media art activities, participants will experiment with drawing, color, and collage while learning how artistic engagement supports cognitive flexibility and lifelong learning. No prior art experience is necessary - curiosity is encouraged! *Note: this workshops is offered as part of our wellness series and addresses the Intellectual, Social, and Emotional dimensions of wellness. Each participant will also receive a copy of Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross.
