It's our show now, kid. The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium. Summer Stock Camps are two-three weeks of casting, rehearsing, and performing a fully-staged musical or play. The camp also provides 7th – 12th graders a variety of focused skill-building exercises intended to improve students’ theater skills. These productions are designed so that every participant has a moment to shine! The multi-week structure allows students more time to dive into acting and performance skills, and rehearse a longer more detailed play than they would in a one-week camp.Two to three weeks is still a short time to put on a play so this camp is best for students who are open to memorization work at home.
