This course is a continuation study in classic choreography of two styles of Hawaiian dance: the ancient form (hula kahiko) and the contemporary style (hula auwana). We will explore pre-missionary era history, culture and social protocols in relationship to the Hula. The Fall 2 session culminates in a recital to celebrate all learners' achievements, including those receiving certificates from the UNESCO Council of International Dance (CID), and share with friends, family, and the COM community on Tuesday, December 8.
