About this event
In this exciting, project-based afterschool program, students in grades K–2nd will explore foundational science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) concepts through fun, hands-on robotics challenges designed especially for young learners. Using LEGO Education robotics kits, students will build and program interactive models, machines, and robots while learning essential engineering and coding concepts such as simple machines, motion, sensors, sequencing, cause and effect, and the engineering design process. Students will be encouraged to plan, build, test, troubleshoot, and improve their creations as they work through engaging, age-appropriate challenges. Depending on student progress and interest, learners may also explore other engineering and technology tools, including 3D pens, micro:bit, Hummingbird Robotics, and additional age-appropriate platforms. Through collaborative projects, students will strengthen their creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while building confidence with robotics and engineering. Returning students will enjoy new and different projects, while first-time participants will receive the guidance and support needed to learn and succeed. Regular updates will be shared with families through ClassDojo so parents can follow their child’s learning and accomplishments throughout the program.
