In this exciting, project-based afterschool program, students in grades K–2nd will explore foundational Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) concepts through fun, hands-on activities designed especially for young learners. Using MIT Scratch Jr., students will create imaginative stories, games, and animations while learning essential coding concepts such as sequencing, events, movement, and cause and effect. Depending on student progress and interest, learners may also be introduced to additional coding and technology platforms, including LEGO Robotics, Minecraft Education, and other age-appropriate programs. Through engaging challenges, students will strengthen their creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while building confidence with coding and technology. Returning students will enjoy new and different projects, while first-time participants will receive the guidance and support needed to learn and succeed. Regular updates will be shared with families through ClassDojo so parents can follow their child’s learning and accomplishments throughout the program.
