Description

To continue the study of Barely Beginners Spanish with communicative exercises and increased thematic vocabulary centered on the body, food and restaurant protocols.

We will begin our studies with a full day's review of Barely Beginners Spanish I.

The class will cover vocabulary and useful phrases of the body, including how to express illness. Another theme will be restaurant and food vocabulary. Students will learn the names of a variety of foods, how to politely speak in a restaurant, and how to order dishes, pay the bill, etc. Dialogues serve as important partner practice throughout. Cultural learnings and grammar lessons are integrated into daily sessions.

If the class agrees, we can add an extra day to visit a local restaurant and practice our knowledge in "real life!"

Fee: $45; pay instructor. Plus, material fee: $5; pay at registration. (Fee for participants in ICSC's low-income membership program; $33.75; pay instructor).
