In this hands-on introductory course, students will learn how to take full creative control of their digital cameras—DSLR or mirrorless—by mastering essential settings such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Through guided demonstrations and weekly assignments, participants will explore composition, light, focus, and motion to understand how each element shapes a photograph’s final look. The class also covers key digital fundamentals like white balance, file formats, and workflow, giving students the confidence to shoot thoughtfully and consistently in manual mode. Cameras will be provided for use during class.
Instruction will take place in the classroom and outdoors. Students should be prepared for light walking in the park as part of the photography portion of the class.
