About this event
Description
Raku is a traditional Japanese firing method that uses fire and air to create dazzling effects on clay pieces. In two hours, you can experience all the stages of Raku firing, reduction, and cooling. We provide the pottery, you make it art!
While we encourage you to sign up with your date, enrollment is required for each individual attending.
NOTE: This MITI will require participants to work close to fire and hot wares. Please wear closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, and have hair pulled back out of the face. Synthetic or loose clothing is not recommended due to the proximity to flames.
- Please wear long sleeves, pants and closed toed shoes (preferably cotton or cotton/blend).
