Get ready to explore encaustic painting in our All-Levels Encaustic class. Using melted beeswax, you'll create textured, vibrant artworks while learning to layer, fuse, and work with the medium. Whether you're new to encaustics or refining your skills, you'll build techniques that add a new dimension to your artistic process!
Topics Covered
This class begins with the history of encaustic painting and an introduction to the materials. It offers a traditional, sequential approach to the medium. You will gain confidence as lesson objectives build throughout the course. Topics include: color theory and mixing, textural methods through brushwork, transparent layering of beeswax, and composition building with image transfer. You will have the opportunity to work abstractly and/or representationally in this class. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and individual guidance from the instructor.
