Description
This class begins with the history of encaustic painting and an introduction to the materials. It offers a traditional, sequential approach to the medium. You will gain confidence as lesson objectives build throughout the course. Topics include: color theory and mixing, textural methods through brushwork, transparent layering of beeswax, and composition building with image transfer. You will have the opportunity to work abstractly and/or representationally in this class. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and individual guidance from the instructor.
