Join an established community of artists and master your painting skills in this advanced-level class! Push the creative envelope as you paint from your sketchbook, still life, photographs, or your imagination. Class time will include painting, group critiques, demonstrations, and lectures.

Topics Covered

The focus of this course will be to work towards the creation of paintings to express your unique artistic voice. You may choose to work as realistically or abstractly as you like. Prompts will be given to jump start your creations and guide your experiments. The elements and principles of design will be used as cornerstones to discuss expressive possibilities. Contemporary and historical artists will be introduced as inspiration. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and individual guidance from the instructor.

Supplies

No specific supplies are required for this class. You may bring whatever supplies are necessary to work on your chosen project. Bring a sketchbook and a few of the most important items to the first class.
