Master Class Workshop
Join Thomas Mann- an icon of American art jewelry and a master of assemblage- for a fascinating and fun workshop, The Found Object Sandwich. With over 50 years as a professional working artist, Mann is celebrated for his distinctive "Techno-Romantic" style, blending metal with found objects to create bold, expressive jewelry and sculpture.
In this workshop, Mann shares his innovative cold connection system, guiding participants through essential techniques for assembling wearable art. You'll experiment with creative problem solving while designing your own unique piece using materials that hold meaning. Participants are encouraged to bring personal materials such as photographs, buttons, heirloom jewelry, street finds, and natural elements . . . to personalize their creations. A student supply kit is included, making it easy to dive right in.
Friday session also features Mann's engaging lecture, Artist as Artrepreneur, offering insight into building a sustainable and creative career for over five decades.
NOTE: Participants must have prior experience using a jeweler's saw.
