Draw upon your experience while taking your drawing skills to the next level! Building on the lessons of Drawing 1, this class will continue your exploration of value, line, and form. You'll choose your own subjects-- portraits from photos, still lifes, landscapes-- and try new drawing mediums.

Topics Covered

This class will give you the opportunity to improve upon skills such as developing dynamic compositions, expressive line quality, and value for form and texture. Other elements and principles of design will be introduced as you experiment with the use of loose drawing materials such as charcoal and soft pastel. Color will be introduced to enhance your expressive potential. Discussions about subject matter and content will encourage the development of your individual drawing ideas. Historical and contemporary artworks will be introduced for inspiration. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and individual guidance from the instructor.
