About this event
A complete grounding in watercolor technique, taught through slow looking. Over four sessions students learn the fundamentals in the order that actually builds a painting — water control, the wet and dry states, value, color, edges, and finally detail — while each session also carries a contour drawing exercise and a short mindfulness practice chosen to serve that day's technical skill. Students work from a subject of their own choosing for the whole four weeks. Every technique is demonstrated in a way that transfers to any subject, and every studio block is spent applying it to their own material. By the last session each student has a body of studies and one resolved painting of something they actually care about.
