About this event
Whether you've never picked up a crochet hook or are looking to refresh your skills, this welcoming class is the perfect place to begin. Designed for absolute beginners and those with a little experience, this course introduces the foundational techniques that serve as the building blocks for countless crochet projects. Students will learn the essential tools, terminology, and stitches needed to crochet with confidence while gaining an understanding of yarn types, hook sizes, and pattern reading. Through step-by-step instruction, participants will master basic stitches, learn how to identify and correct common mistakes, and discover the anatomy of a crochet stitch to improve consistency and technique. After completing an introductory project, students will have the opportunity to select a beginner-friendly project of their own and begin working on it with personalized guidance and support from the instructor. By the end of the course, participants will have completed a finished crocheted piece, developed a solid foundation in crochet, and gained the confidence to continue creating projects on their own. Supplies: • 7 oz. worsted weight (size 4) acrylic yarn in a *light* color of your choice. Variegated is fine as long as the colors are not dark. • Size "H" or "I" crochet hook of aluminum or material of your choice. Don't have supplies? A complete crochet kit is available for purchase on the first day of class for $10. Bring cash or Venmo — it covers everything you need to get started.
