The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is a conducted at a range under the guidance and supervision of an NRA-Certified Instructor. The course is intended for all adults regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is the class you will want to take to obtain your Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers in CT (Pistol Permit) as well as the CT Long Gun Eligibility Certificate (Long Gun Permit) When you have completed the online Basic of Pistol Shooting course then sign up for the hands-on practical / evaluation portion conducted in a classroom followed up with the live fire and qualification portion with one of our NRA Certified instructors. In the Patriot Performance Shooting, llc NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course will shoot approximately forty rounds of .22 long rifle ammunition from a semi-automatic handgun. You will also shoot a 9mm pistol and a .38 special revolver. The .22 LR has a low recoil impulse and is much less loud that many other handguns. Its great for practice. The class starts with the CT Legal presentation, then a review of what you learned in the on-line BOPS presentation including hands on review of safety, loading and clearing a pistol and the fundamentals of shooting a handgun.
