Instructor: Jane Todd Butcher Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced Ages: 14 to 100 Medium: Acrylic Painting Total Class Hours: 12 Description: Fluid acrylics have become the favorite pigment of realistic and abstract painters alike due to their vibrant color, fast drying, and "forgiving" nature. This workshop is for artists who have some painting experience, as well as advanced artists who want to explore this medium or broaden your skills. Artists will deepen their knowledge of color mixing, using just a few colors, and find color combinations that harmonize, using both transparent and opaque techniques. We will also explore layering, glazing, and texturing techniques not available with other paints, as well as methods to slow drying if needed. Students who want to have materials supplied may choose this option ($25 fee) at registration (paints, brushes, paper, etc. provided). Others may choose to bring the recommended materials (list provided). Students wishing to use canvas may bring it.
