Description

This class is designed to help students rebuild confidence and effectiveness in face-to-face communication at a time when hyper-focus, screen use, and digital interaction have reduced opportunities to practice in-person social skills. Through structured activities (including small-group discussions, storytelling exercises, and short presentations), students will practice clear self-expression, active listening, eye contact, and conversational presence. The course emphasizes confidence and connection over performance, offering a supportive, low-pressure environment where students can practice communicating without phones or screens. The goal is to strengthen interpersonal skills that are increasingly underused but essential for success in school, jobs, interviews, and community life. This class is taught by Nora Ali, a nationally recognized host, journalist, and former news anchor from New York City, who has extensive experience leading conversations on stage, on camera, and in live settings.
