About this event
Six IN-PERSON Sessions March 16, 23, 30, April 6, 13, 20 2:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. The New Testament was written by devoted male followers of the crucified Jesus from approximately 50 to 300 CE. None knew Jesus face to face, writing years after his death on the basis of visions and memories of memories. The authors of the documents demonstrated considerable skill with vernacular Greek. Studying the chronological development gives 21st century students a clearer insight into the early development of the Jesus movement that morphed into Christianity in the third century CE. Bob Maddox is a graduate of Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Seminary and Emory University. He has written eight books with a concentration on the Jesus of History and early Christian beginnings. In addition to pastorates, Bob was a White House speechwriter for President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter. He was also executive director of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. Bob and his wife of 65 years live at Phoenix by Lake Lanier, Gainesville, Ga.
