About this event
Celebrate your furry (or feathery!) family members with art! 🐾 This joyful workshop kicks off with a splash of art history, then dives straight into two creative hours of bringing your beloved pet to life on paper. You’ll play with colored pencils to capture fluffy fur, shiny noses, soulful eyes, and all that irresistible personality—using drafting film, paper, or pastel mat. Bring your favorite high-quality pet photos (printed or on your phone/tablet) and get ready to turn them into a one-of-a-kind portrait or a heartfelt gift for someone special. Whether you’re a proud pet parent or just love animals, come draw, laugh, and create with us! Art experience not required. 🎨🐶🐱 Michelle Oosterbaan is an artist whose drawings, wall paintings, and installations explore movement, memory, and a sense of place. Influenced by architecture, science, poetry, and landscape, her work maps how we experience space. She has exhibited internationally, completed major public art projects with organizations like Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Democratic National Convention, and her work has been featured in The New Yorker and other publications. Oosterbaan holds a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA from Indiana University, and currently teaches drawing in Philadelphia.
