No Experience-Beginner TBD Materials and Studio Fees* An introduction to fundamental blacksmithing processes with the end goal of putting together a hook rack that participants can take home and use. Techniques covered will include forging tapers, shoulders, bending, punching holes, and riveting. Depending on the interests of the attendees, twisting, chiseling, and even forge welding may be covered as well. On the first day, participants will be shown how to forge hooks and will spend the day making as many hooks as they choose for their rack. On the second day, participants will be shown how to make the rack and attach the hooks with rivets, as well as how to finish the overall piece so it will not rust. *Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
