EPRD is proud to announce the first of our Colorado Fishing 101 Clinics!

Have you wanted to get into fishing, but weren't sure where to start? Do you always find yourself wrapped up in fishing line, and frustrated with your gear not cooperating? Have you recently moved to Colorado, and were unsure of where or how to start fishing in our gorgeous state? Then we have just the class for you!

EPRD's Colorado Fishing 101 class focuses on connecting residents and visitors alike with the skills, tricks, and tips to get out and fish in the great state of Colorado and relative areas! Whether you're brand new to fishing, looking to brush up on your skills, or trying to figure out how to catch more fish on a regular basis, we would LOVE for you to join us!

**Please note: While we love Flyfishing here at EPRD, this class is focusing on Spincast Fishing. Please see our upcoming Flyfishing 101 and Fly-tying classes for more information on that.

During this course, we will be focusing on a variety of topics that are bound to help everyone who wants to get out and fish, including (but not limited to):

  • Understanding the different types of equipment and reels
  • Gear and setup techniques
  • Casting Techniques
  • Reading Water & Weather
  • Different Bait, Lures, and Jigs
  • Fish Species and Techniques
  • Fishing Regulations & Ethics
  • Landing & Handling Fish
  • How to Clean & Cook your Catch

...and so much more!

This class will begin at 10am on Saturday, January 16th in the Bristlecone Lounge at BPRC and will run until about 4pm that afternoon. Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided for everyone who registers and attends! Class will run from 10am-12pm with a 45-minute break for lunch and will resume until 4pm. This class will include several sessions outside to practice casting, as well as getting lines unstuck and re-stringing reels.

What is provided for you:

  • Booklet/Manual on all information covered in class
  • Small assortment of different rigs, jigs, lures, and materials
  • Lunch, snacks, and refreshments throughout the day
  • Link for Presentation to be re-viewed at home

What you need to bring with you:

  • Fishing Pole and Reel (Non-Fly Fishing type)
  • Tacklebox (with whatever gear you have-if none just bring an empty tacklebox)
